This is where there is no activity in the hair at all.  The hair is sort of just hanging in there. The final phase of the hairs life is called the exogen phase this is when the hair detaches from the scalp and makes its long journey to the drain of your shower, sadly it only makes this pilgrimage once in its life. Once you hair enters its final life stage you will lose anywhere from 25 to 200 hairs a day.

The way to successfully grow your hair out naturally is by keep your hair in the anagen phase longer.
